University Certificate Course: “Planetary Health: Health, Nutrition and Environment”
Advanced training for international academics to support integration into the German labour market
Despite specialised education and relevant professional experience, international university graduates often face challenges in securing qualified employment in Germany. Common barriers include limited recognition or understanding of international degrees, insufficient (subject-specific) language skills, and a lack of knowledge about the particularities of the German labour market.
To help overcome these challenges and support the integration of international professionals, the University of Bayreuth offers the certificate course “Planetary Health: Health, Nutrition and Environment” as part of the DAAD-funded project “PROFI plus.”
Target group:
International academics with a foreign university degree in the fields of health, environmental or nutritional sciences who are seeking employment in Germany that matches their qualifications and wish to further specialise in the area of Planetary Health.
Course duration:
6 months
Course fee:
The course is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with support from the Federal Ministry for Research Technology and Space as part of the “Campus Initiative for International Professionals.” Therefore, participation is free of charge.
Course content & services:
- Subject-specific language courses in health sciences as well as economics/STEM
- Interdisciplinary training in Planetary Health, complemented by modules in economics
- Tailored guidance and support from the project team and mentoring programme
- Preparation for the German labour market through job-related coaching and application training
By obtaining a certificate from a German university, participants significantly improve their prospects on the German labour market and can apply their potential and qualifications in a targeted way.
