PROFI in MINT
"PROFI in MINT": Additional qualification for refugees who hold an academic degree
Some refugees have both an academic degree and previous professional experience. In principle, they are highly qualified for the German labour market, and Germany is currently looking for skilled workers, especially in the fields of mathematics, information technology, natural sciences, and technology (MINT). Despite this, refugee who hold a degree rarely find employment matching their training on the German labour market.
The DAAD-funded project "PROFI in MINT" at the University of Bayreuth, which includes the certificate course "Technology and Management", is a response to this situation. This certificate course is aimed at degree-holding refugees.
The certificate course lasts one semester. The course is free of charge for refugees.
- Fundamentals of engineering
- Fundamentals of economics
- Two specialist language courses
- Career service support
By obtaining a certificate from a German university, refugees are given better opportunities on the German labour market and can use their potential and qualifications there in a targeted manner.
